Welcome to the cheap pop for views area of MWP. With the endless ads for the upcoming Amazon Prime sale, I figured I would drop some links for MWP readers.
As always, any and all Amazon links here on MWP are affiliate links. This is one of the avenues we need to have open to make this site work. So without further ado, here’s some photography things you can buy that will help not only us out, but you too.
JJC Multi-Function Camera Battery Memory Card Storage Case
It goes without saying that we need to keep our batteries and memory cards in safe places. There are numerous options out there. I recently came across this one that keeps cards and batteries together. The price seems right with all of the options available.

MICROFIBER LENS CLOTH
Seriously, if you are not walking over piles of lens cloths in your house, what is wrong with you? They are cheap and a very needed part of a photography kit.

Thermacell Mosquito Portable Repeller
Why I did not buy one of these Thermacell repellers earlier is a mystery to me. When it comes to Milky Way photography, we are usually out when the bugs are. The weather does not cooperate, and we need to find something that will keep our bodies from being a bug’s gourmet meal.
Bug sprays are plentiful and usually do the trick, but there are second and third-order effects. The more powerful blends tend to be bad for camera plastics and rubber. Some are greasy and others are smelly. I would gladly recommend getting this or any of the other models that Thermacell puts out.

Vanguard Alta Pro 263AB 100 Aluminum Tripod
You cannot go wrong with a Vanguard tripod. I have been using the same one for the past decade and I have yet to have a problem with. For the price, I would put a Vanguard tripod up against more expensive models most any day of the week. While there are some things about it that I do not like, it carries about a 99% approval rating in my book. While you are at it, head on to the Vanguard Website to see more models.

sandisk portable hard drive
Spending days and weeks on the road with a camera can lead to some serious libraries of images. As always, it is good practice to download your memory cards every so often. Having a portable hard drive, like this one from Sandisk can help any memory card issues while you are out in the field.

in conclusion
It pays to have options when it comes to gear. Safe storage for not only hard items is a must, but we need to focus on how we will keep those image files safe also.
