Figuring out when the Milky Way returns in not just an issue for the winter. Being able to predict and find the Milky Way is a skill that’s useful year round.
The Milky Way Returns – When?
Aaron launches PhotoPills.com and uses the Planner and Calendar Pills to find the Milky Way and the best times to photograph it. Then he uses Stellarium.org to simulate the night sky when the Milky Way returns. Stellarium is free software, and it’s definitely one you want to learn. Aaron sketches it all out to illustrate the concepts in an easy and understandable way. Sure, it’s another deep dive, just like last week. But it’s one you’ll want to learn and be familiar with!
