So I’ve been working with this company, KC photography for more than a year now. I’ve done wedding, boudoir and a lot of different types of photoshoot while working there. We recently had a client who would like us to do sky photography and my boss decided to send me in Australia to be able to capture Aurora Borealis but this is something new to me and I dont want to disappoint my boss and our client. Any tips from the pros here in shooting Aurora?

    Hi Kpori!
That’s awesome about going to Australia for the Aurora. First, I’d suggest you can find aurora without going to Australia. Head to Canada or even Michigan. Now is the perfect time to do it too. And New Zealand would probably be a better spot than Australia too. as it’s further south. Check out this article by MaryBeth Kiczenski about chacing the aurora – https://milkywayphotographers.com/article/2019/01/10/chasing-lady-aurora/ MaryBeth has camera setting listed for some of the photos.
Read up on how to track aurora, as you’ll need to know when it is out.
If you have any other questions, let us know.
