I’ve tried uploading my photos a couple of times since the site has been created and the site just doesn’t deal with the likes of my panos very well.

Is the their a size or ratio that is ideal to upload in so the whole of my image is displayed rather then 1/5th of it?

    Cheers,

    John

Hi John – If your image is too big, then the site gets confused… I suggest loading images at 1920 pixels for the longest dimension. JPGs of course. As long as it’s about 2MB max in size, the site seems to do fine with them.

    Thanks for checking!

    Thanks for that Kirk!

Your advice seems fine on photos in landscape orientation but for portrait I’ve found 1100px is the limit. I can’t upload anything taller without edges being cut off

Also looks like I’ve got an issue with available space left. What I have uploaded is less then 10mb, but I’ve apparently used 98mb

I am going to presume that all the uploading and deleting during the testing I’ve done has stacked up somewhere but isn’t displayed?

    HI John –
Thanks for the testing! The width of the website template is 1060 or so pixel (from memory) so maybe that’s related. Got to keep in mind these sites are deigned for people looking at them with cell phones so there’s a limit to how much data can be moved around, I think.
I’ll look around and see if I can figure out where your space has gone.

    HI John –
I just looked and it ways you have “You have 98% of your 100MB space left”. Perhaps it takes the system a little time to figure out you deleted some of the images?? “Interesting,” to quote Mr. Spock!

Just had another look and I am still on 98%, however, it seems a visual bug as I was able to upload 4mbs worth of images!

Looks like I’ve got my galleries up to date. Who is best to message to claim the achievements Kirk?

John – you can PM me with your point submissions. Aaron is heading to the Faroes today, I think for a week, so it will be a while before could get to it.
