My first attempt tracking the milky way with a star tracker. This is a two image stack. 1st image tracker stopped to expose keep the foreground frozen. 2nd image was for sky with the tracker in motion. That night I had a lot of trouble getting polar alignment. I could see Polaris with the naked eye but couldn’t get it in the scope. So, I only got close using latitude from GPS and a compass. Both exposures were 2 minutes at ISO 800 and f/2.8. Usually hot spots aren’t an issue with my D810 but they show up on 2 minute exposures. I’m wishing that I had taken a few dark frames so that I didn’t have to overwork the spot removal tool.
