Stanley Harper, one of the writers for MilkyWayPhotographers.com, has kicked off his inaugural “Chase the Milky Way” tour this year. Several companies are supporting the journey. Mindshift was the first company to jump on board, donating four bags from their BackLight line. We will be holding a Mindshift backpack giveaway in conjunction with Stanley’s adventures.

Stanley’s goal behind “Chase the Milky Way” is to inspire people to get out and immerse themselves in the beauty of the night sky. He plans to bring a greater understanding of how light pollution plays a part in what we see in the night sky. Along the way, Stanley will photograph the Milky Way at both new locations and revisit personally important areas. He’s imposed a limit that all the places are within a day’s drive from where Stanley lives. This adventure was born out of a day adventure Stanley made in 2018 with a group of friends that landed them on top of a New Mexico mesa photographing the Milky Way.
